This is an arduous event. Whilst our You Tube video is designed to be humorous, we hope that it highlights that this Event needs training. The route is designed to be hard, it's called a Hell Run for a reason!
Do not run in the Event if you feel unwell or have recently been unwell, even if you are raising money for charity.
Most medical emergencies during races occur in participants who have been unwell and do not wish to miss the Event.
If you feel feverish, have been vomiting, have had severe diarrhoea or chest pains, or otherwise in any way feel unwell, then it is unfair to you, your family, your charity and the race support staff to risk serious illness and become a medical emergency.
You are unlikely to do yourself justice and there will be another Hell Run next year.
If you injure yourself during the event there is a sweeper vehicle to pick you up alternatively there are regular marshals and every aid station has a radio and transportation.
Heveningham Hall is mid-way between the villages of Heveningham and Walpole on the B1117.
The postcode for Sat Nav is IP19 0PN.
Free Parking is provided and Gates Open at 10.00am.
This will host the Christmas Market.
Race Registration as well as the Start & Finish of both races is clearly marked just outside the Courtyard.
Indoor toilets are provided as well as a hosepipe for washing mud off after the race.
The car park is very close to the start line and Santa's are encouraged to use their cars to store belongings during the event.
We do provide a secure Car Key Holding service if required.
SANTA’S HELL RUN
Santa's Heveningham Hell Run is one loop of a 10km well Marshalled and Signed course.
Starting and finishing in front of the Courtyard, Santa's will run through open Capability Brown parkland before taking on the steep sided PItt. They continue on an undulating route incorporating beatuiful woodland paths and crosing steady streams before returing to the Hall for a well deserved mince pie. It's a Hell of a Run.
There are 3 Aid Stations along the route, approximately every 2.5km.
Due to the nature of the course it's unsuitable for Wheelchair Athletes.
Conditions underfoot will be extremely soft/muddy so footwear with good grip is advised, spikes are allowed.
Santa's Little Helper Race is approximately 2km long.
The start and finish line is the same as the Hell Run, by registration.
The route starts down hill, before turning towards the pitt. Runners go up and down the mound in the pitt before running around the pitt and back home down the concrete drive. This has been well illustrated by our local artist below.
Under 5's MUST BE accompanied by an Adult. Timings have been arranged so that any Santa's in the Hell Run can run with their Little Helper beforehand should they wish. Should accompanying adults wish to purchase a Santa Suit they will be available on the day from Registration for £5.
