MEDICAL INFORMATION

This is an arduous event. Whilst our You Tube video is designed to be humorous, we hope that it highlights that this Event needs training. The route is designed to be hard, it's called a Hell Run for a reason!

Do not run in the Event if you feel unwell or have recently been unwell, even if you are raising money for charity. Most medical emergencies during races occur in participants who have been unwell but do not wish to miss the Event. If you feel feverish, have been vomiting, have had severe diarrhoea or chest pains, or otherwise in any way feel unwell, then it is unfair to you, your family, your charity and the race support staff to risk serious illness and become a medical emergency. You are unlikely to do yourself justice and there will be another Hell Run next year.

If you injure yourself there's a sweeper vehicle to pick you up alternatively there are regular marshals and every aid station has a radio and transportation.

PARKING

Heveningham Hall is mid-way between the villages of Heveningham and Walpole on the B1117. The postcode for Sat Nav is IP19 0PN. Free Parking is provided and Gates Open at 9.00am.

THE COURTYARD

This will host the Christmas Market but will also be the site of race registration, both races start and finish as well as the post race presentations.

FACILITIES

Indoor toilets will be provided at Registration. There is a hosepipe for washing mud off after the race next to the toilets

BAGGAGE

The car park is very close to the start line and Santa's are encouraged to use their cars to store belongings during the event.

THE COURSES

SANTA’S HELL RUN

Santa's Heveningham Hell Run is one loop of a well Marshaled and Signed course. Starting from in front of the courtyard, Santa's will run down hill before turning right and heading into Pit Field. Here Santa enter the Pit and go up and down the Grass Ramp. On exiting the Pit Santa takes on The Climb up Pit Field to the edge of the South Wood. Here Santa go through the underpass before doubling back over the underpass and back onto a wide woodland path. Proceeding through the wood Santa comes to the Temple Turn and can warm up as they pass the Fire (mind the Suit though). The route then takes Santa downhill deep into the South Wood, to the top of the drive.  Watch out for Pheasants along the south wood ride here, as they don't believe in Santa! On exiting the South Wood Santa takes on some rolling hills back towards the Courtyard, which gives Spectators a fantastic view of the tiring Santa's, before completing one lap of the Main Field and back to the Finish Line in front of the courtyard.

There are 3 Aid Stations along the route, approximately every 2.5km.

Due to the nature of the course it's unsuitable for Wheelchair Athletes. Conditions underfoot will be extremely soft/muddy so footwear with good grip is advised, spikes are allowed.

SANTA’S LITTLE
HELPER RACE

Santa's Little Helper Race is one loop of Pit Field (see map). It starts on the Main Drive (road surface) in front of the courtyard and heads towards Pit Field taking the left fork in the road. Runners will then enter the Pit, going up and back down the Grass Ramp before existing the Pit and taking a clockwise route around Pit Field. There's only one gradual incline for approximately 50 meters at the top of which there will be a drinks station, otherwise the route is a flat open field. On completing the lap runners come onto the Main Drive again and run downhill to finish in front of the courtyard.

Under 8's MUST BE accompanied by an Adult. Timings have been arranged so that any Santa's in the Hell Run can run with their Little Helper beforehand should they wish.  Should accompanying adults wish to purchase a Santa Suit they will be available on the day from Registration for £5.
